On May 13, a video conference was held on automobile industry cooperation and exchange between Jilin province and Emilia-Romagna of Italy. Jing Junhai, deputy secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and governor of the province, together with Manlio Di Stefano, undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Vincenzo Colla, regional councilor of Emilia-Romagna and other representatives made in-depth exchanges via video link in 8 branch venues of China, Italy and the United States, so as to cooperatively promote projects and jointly boost the development of modern new-type automobiles. In the conference, the Silk EV innovation center was unveiled to be established simultaneously in China and Italy.
On behalf of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, the provincial government and Secretary Bayanqolu, Jing Junhai congratulated the establishment of the Silk EV innovation center in China and Italy. He said that Jilin province has always placed a high value on a friendly and cooperative partnership with Italy. At this critical time for the global war against the covid-19 epidemic, the two sides have understood and supported each other, as well as shared weal and woe. This time, the two sides work together to establish the Silk EV innovation center and build the FAW Hongqi S-Series sports car, which fully demonstrates the confidence and expectation for the future cooperation. Hopefully, the two sides will deeply integrate the Belt and Road Initiative, promote the institutionalization of exchange and cooperation on a regular basis, and create a new mode of international cooperation. First, promote cooperation with projects, build a world-class Hongqi sports car brand, work together to promote the construction of Changchun International Automobile City, and expedite the establishment of a world-class industrial base for modern new-type automobiles. Second, seek future through opening up and focus on modern agriculture, equipment manufacturing, infrastructure and other areas to deepen open international cooperation, so as to make Jilin be a new forefront of China’s opening up. Third, increase friendship by exchanges and build a new model of friendly cooperation between the local governments of China and Italy in the new era.
Stefano thanked China’s especially Jilin province’s support and help for the country in fighting against COVID-19 epidemic. He said that the country is to gather advanced technology and innovative resources to support the promotion of the Hongqi S-Series sports car and other projects, and lead the bilateral cooperation to achieve more fruitful results. Vincenzo Colla said that Emilia-Romagna is to make every effort to build a professional international platform to create good conditions for the in-depth cooperation and project construction of the automobile industry between the two sides.
