Location 1: Shuangyang Diaoshuihu Scenic Area

Distance: 91 kilometers away from Changchun

Time: about two hours

Diaoshuihu Scenic Area is located in Shanhe Town, Shuangyang District, in which mountains are undulating and winding, peaks rise one higher than the other, many rare rocks stand in great numbers, gorges are quiet and secluded, brook is gurgling, and plenty of animals and plants grow. Diaoshuihu Scenic Area mainly consists of karst caves that look dangerous, rare, secluded, and unique. Just after the mountain month, there is a ten-meter green corridor, where mountains set off one another, leaving a footway at the bottom of valley. At the end of the corridor, there is the highest peak with an altitude of 711 meters in Changchun. The Diaoshuihu Karst Cave is just under the peak. The whole cave consists of heavenly palace, dragon palace, and heavenly palace cave, occupying three of “the most in Northeast China”.

At the beginning of reaching Diaoshuihu Waterfall (Kettle Hanging Waterfall), several distinctive wooden structure buildings at the entrance of the Diaoshuihu Scenic Area seem to bring people into an elegant and delightful life in forest at one blow. The Diaoshuihu Scenic Area is 2,380 meters long and planned in upstream and downstream phases, in which plank roads and 12 wooden structure bridges are built. The Diaoshuihu Waterfall is called “Forest Oxygen Bar” by tourists depending on its unique geographic location, highly personalized landscape construction, and a wide variety of plant communities.

Shaman Totem Forest is the first scene of the scenic area. Shaman totem poles and Nuchen tree drums introduce people into the fantastic ancient civilization. “Shaman” is a Nuchen word, meaning a kind of people who are koradji. It is said that they have the ability to convey man's will to the god and the god's will to men. Shamanism is a primitive religion arising from the prosperity of original matriarchal society that is a universal belief in north China in ancient times. Ancient Nuchen, the Huns and Khitan and modern Manchu, Mongolian and Kazak to some extent have retained some customs of the Shamanism.

Shaman Totem Forest totally has 15 totem poles, on which different statues are carved in different forms, because the Shamanism is an original polytheism and a polytheistic adoration formed under the domination of “animism” concept. However, the Shaman does not have temples and shrines and no full-time clergies such as imam and lead worshipper. People believing in this religion are in the spontaneous formation of "Chama" in their tribes to take charge of worship for heaven and earth, mountains, land, and ancestors, and vows and other major events. The gods are mainly expressed in the form of wood carving or painting.

The gods represented by totems include Changbai Mountain Owner (Chaohazhanye transliterated from Manju language), Orientation Goddess (Heshuohehe), Father God (Wushenkuomafa), Mother God (Foduomama), Mushroom God (Senchemama), Multi-milk Mother (Nadanhuhunmama), Snow God (Mangniendouli), Embroidery Goddess (Yierhagege), Gold God (Aixinendouli), Tangzi God, Snake God, Eagle God, and Leopard God.

The Nuchen tree drum is used for worship when ancient Manju people want to enter mountains. For example, when digging ginseng in mountains, under the leadership of the ganger (commonly called “old ganger”), the mass will worship the Mountain God by burning joss sticks, presenting articles of tribute, kowtowing, making vows, and praying with words. The prayers generally mean “worshipful Mountain God, I am the old ganger. My disciples will pick up goods in the mountain. Please give a direction to let us widen our eyes. We must thank for you if we come back to get a large amount of goods and make a fortune.” Then, every one knocks on trees with wood rods for three times.

Recreation Bridge: Up from the downstream of waterfall, a wooden arch bridge – Recreation Bridge will leap to eyes first. Hundreds of pieces of rainbow trout are visible in the water under the bridge. Through the Xizunqiao (Bridge for Playing with Rainbow Trout), there is a lap 300 meters away along with the plank road, where 21 “volcanic wells” are scattered. Just as its name implies, the rounded wellhead of the volcanic wells pops out from the earth’s surface. The largest diameter is 1.5 meters and the maximum depth is 2 to 3 meters. The well walls are hard lava. If carefully observed, the walls have intact patterns. However, the volcanic wells are not used for supplying water. Amazingly, the bottom of each well has a lot of volcanic charcoals, and the wall patterns look like patterns of barks. How does it form? Some experts point out that when the Jinlongdingzi (golden dragon hill) Volcano broke forth, the liquid magma flowed on the earth’s surface and flew through the foot of the valley in a very short period so that originally dense forests and many tall trees here were wrapped by liquid magma and burned quickly to form the "volcanic well" spectacle.

Trees densely cover around the waterfall. There are many tree species. Only dozens of willows gather together in one place, with height of more than 30 meters. The willows are tall and straight and are like poplars but not graceful willows. This kind of trees is called Saliz matsudana, which is scarcely seen in Longgang range. Over 30-meter Saliz matsudana is scarcer.

Diaoshuihu Waterfall originates from several small springs at the border of Jingyu County and leans close to the foot of Jinlongdingzi Mountain. The main fall is smooth and flat as if carved out artificially. There is a fall dashed out in the cliff at the west side of the main fall. The two together form a wonderful “mother and son waterfall”. The water within the upper 300 meters is quiet as mirror, showing visitors a landscape of still picture. Once flowing here, the water suddenly turns off and unceasingly rushes down all the year round to splash into rocks and cause roaring voices, forming synthetic beauty integrating sound, color, and shape. The two waterfalls are like a big kettle hanging in forest and canyon, so the locals call it “Kettle Hanging Waterfall”.

At a distance, the Diaoshuihu Waterfall is like a flying curtain in the air; closely, the drooping water droplets are like spattering pearls and smoke and brume. In summer, the splashing spoondrifts are like flying snow and elegant as silk in a jiffy and are colorful as rainbow soon later; in winter, it is like a big crystal glacier hanging upside down on the cliff. Covered by snow, a slim of water flows in the ice seam, and layers of rimes come into being on branches, making the forest present a magnificent vision of jade trees and silver flowers. The Diaoshuihu Waterfall is really like a beauty hiding in the depth of dense forest. Everyone will be overwhelmed by her beauty once lifting her veil.

Jinlongdingzi (gold dragon hill)

Jinlongdingzi, located in southeast of Jinchuan Town and 999.3 meters tall, constitutes remains of typical volcanic landscape together with Dalong Bay and Diaoshuihu Waterfall. From the foot to the top of mountains, shrub and arbor are distributed clearly. There are many tree species. Based on the special geographical and soil conditions, national first-grade protection plant Northeast taxus and ginseng grows here. When overlooked at the flat top mesa as far as possible, rural villages in the distance are like chesses on a chessboard. The calm water of Dalong Bay reflects the sun’s ray that is like a sapphire set in the earth. If it is evening, the fog in the forest will rise and fantastic volcanic clouds will appear, taking on unique scenery.

Address 2: Huinan Sanjiaolong Bay (Huinan Triangle Dragon Bay)

Distance: about 233 kilometers away from Changchun

Time: about four hours

Sanjiaolong Bay (Triangle Dragon Bay), also called Heilongtan (Black Dragon Pond), is located in mountains and forests 45 kilometers southeast away from Chaoyang Town, Huinan City. It is formed by water accumulated at the volcanic vent. Because the surface is a triangle and there is a 30-meter tall triangle stone standing at the south side, the pond is called “Triangle Dragon Bay”. It is one of portals to the Changbai Mountain. The scene has been beautiful and charming since ancient times. China’s second largest volcanic cluster – Longgang volcanic cluster is located here. There are six volcanic lakes within Huinan. According to reviews by scientists, after the burst-out of volcanoes 200,000 years ago, a lot of water have accumulated and risen to form these lakes. The lakes are surrounded by green mountains that are like a huge dragon sleeping on the bank of the lakes, so the volcanic lakes are also called Longwan (dragon bay). The six volcanic lakes are at the west side of Longgang range and in an ordered array from east to southwest. The distance between every two lakes is about six to seven kilometers, and the six lakes are like six resplendent pearls embedded in white mountains and sharp peaks. In the strand of pearls, the Sanjiaolong Bay is the most elegant and beautiful.

The Sanjiaolong Bay is located on the Longgang Mountain with an altitude of 833 metrics. The bay surface is 0.5 square kilometers. The depth is 104 meters at the deepest point. The bay is named due to its triangle shape and features itself with elegant mountains, ancient beauty, and beautiful lakes. When overlooked the panorama, the mountains are like a twisting dragon, lakes are like jade mirror, maple leaves are like burning fire, and spring water is a tiny stream. It is imbued with youthful vitality of nature everywhere.

Related legends:

The Sanjiaolong Bay is also called Black Dragon Pond. It is said a black dragon with three horns ever stayed here to try to make pills of immortality and cultivate vital energy. It usually prayed for rain, killed evils, and relieved people from suffering. Later, the black dragon flied to the Changbai Mountain Tianchi Lake (Celestial Lake), leaving a deep pool and a bay of holy water. The Sanjiaolong Bay is the most grand and beautiful among seven dragon bays in the Longwanqun National Forest Park. The altitude is 833 meters. Although the bay area is only about 42.6 hectares, in the center of the Sanjiaolong Bay, the depth hits 96 meters at the deepest point. The Sanjiaolong Bay is formed by ascending ground water accumulating from volcanic eruption in ancient times. From the perspective of the volcanic geology, most volcanic vents are near circular after volcanic eruption. The triangle volcanic vents are the minority. Longgang range is one of the largest volcano clusters in China and the park is a place several volcanoes closely gather together. Some volcanic vents may erupt for several times. The Sanjiaolong Bay is the result of twice volcano eruptions. According to the research by the geological department, this volcano erupted in the north side for the first time, forming a smaller volcanic vent, and the second eruption was stronger, forming the larger southern side of the Sanjiaolong Bay, especially the unique scene of the island in middle of the lake (Lake Island).

Sanjiaolong Bay

Viewing by relying on the dock handrail at the Sanjiaolong Bay, you can closely feel a bay of clean and green holy water. In such a volcanic lake, it is richer in various mineral elements. The water is so clear that you can see the bottom of the bay for over ten meters. In recent years, Longwan Travel Company has purchased several luxurious and gaily-painted pleasure-boats for sight-seeing. The alternate sailing in the quiet mountain lake creates a beautiful landscape.

   Yingxia Wall (Glow Shining Wall)

Yingxia Wall is a steep cliff, over 90 meters high and facing the east, on the edge of the dock. When the sun rises every day, lofty rays and moisture produces optical refraction, which at a distance is like a blurred wonderland giving out Buddha glory.

Sanjian Peak (Three Swords Peak)

Sanjian Peak is the essence of Sanjiaolong Bay scenes. From the side, three huge stones are like three swords straightly piercing the sky. Is it more like a Buddha palm with endless supernatural power through a closer look? It is said in the era of Nu Wa, a goddess in Chinese mythology, there was a black dragon doing evil on the Longgang range. It always spitted out black water to cause flash floods, destroying a lot of fields and crops. The ancient people begged the god. As a response, Nu Wa came to tame the black dragon and suppressed it with a stone used to make up the sky under the Sanjiaolong Bay to form the Lake Island. The black magic of the black dragon was very powerful, so Nu Wa made the stone used to make up the sky to be her palm to press down the evil so that it cannot turn over by now.

The Longgang range is said to have 72 dragon bays. However, only this place has an island in middle of a lake at volcanic vents, the Lake Island. The area is not big, but the water around the island is even 70 to 90 meters deep. After underwater detection, the shape of the Lake Island is like a solid granite column, sternly breaking from the bottom of the deep and serene lake. The creativity of nature is really amazing. Through explosive volcanic eruptions time and again, the Lake Island still toweringly and tenaciously stands here and deserves the reputation that it is the sky stone of Nu Wa! There is a pavilion built on the island Lingxin Pavilion that is named by the former secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, Comrade Wang Daren. Here, if the mountain fog penetrates, we can feel a better mood than staying in the Penglai Fairyland.

Hulu Tower (Cucurbit Tower)

Hulu Tower is a steep cliff, 48 meters high, on the west side of the Sanjiaolong Bay. There is a plane on top of the tower. The plane, able to bear seven to eight people standing on it, is like a section of a cucurbit rising from mountains. So it is called Hulu Tower.

Bailong Spring (White Dragon Spring)

There is a Bailong Spring in southwest of the Sanjiaolong Bay. The Bailong Spring is very odd, just several steps away from the bay, but the spring water is much higher than the bay water. The spring water wells up from the ground, tastes cool and sweet, sounds gurgling, and flows all the year round.

Tongtian Pavilion (Heaven Reaching Pavilion)

There are 488 stone steps to the Tongtian Pavilion. All of the stones are drawn on local materials. There are many pores on these stones, which are the result of volcanic eruptions under high temperature. The number and degree of the stone pores have something to do with the stone materials and temperature produced by volcanic eruptions.

The beauty of the rivers and mountains makes this place be a tourist attraction, in which martyrs ever fought a bloody battle. The Jilin Martyrs Biography recorded that anti-Japanese hero Comrade Jin Boyang, a member of Standing Committee of the CPC Provincial Committee of Manchuria, ever sacrificed on the south bank of the Sanjiaolong Bay. Osseous remains of the martyrs are placed at the Martyrs Tomb on the north bank of Dalong Bay, five kilometers away from the Sanjiaolong Bay.

Location 3: Baicheng City Da’an Yueliang Lake (Moon Lake)

Distance: about 225 kilometers away

Time: about four hours

Moon Bubble, known as the "Pearl of the Prairie", is located at intersection between Taoer River and Nenjiang River within Da’an City, Jilin Province. The lake surface, sparking and blue, is over 200 square kilometers and looks no boundary. The lake, with wide water area and flat wave, now is renamed “Yueliang Lake”. When boating in the lake, you can look up hundreds of flying birds and overlooking swimming fishes. At a distance, the water and sky seem to be on one line and blend harmoniously. Willows on the bank seem to angle for fishes, gold-like sand covers, and dark comes with songs, leaving people a feeling “at a loss in boundless universe” and “supernatural life outside the reality”. Once summer comes, visitors are in an endless stream, together with friends or wives and kids, to enjoy the happiness in world.

Yueliang Lake has a long history and a moving legend in its formation. The history of Liao Dynasty recorded that in March of the fifth year under the regime of Liao Emperor Shengzong (AD 1025), a thunder-like sound hit Changchun River (Taoer River currently) and Yu’ershuo (Moon Bubble currently). Actually, an earthquake occurred, forming a moon-shape lake linking a strand of water. It was called “Sanlanna Pond” in Mongolian, meaning a sun and moon pond, and also called “Moon Bubble” because the shape is similar to a crescent moon. All emperors in Liao Dynasty have led officials of all ranks and descriptions to hunt at Moon Bubble each spring. The emperors took the lead to “taking fishes by cutting a hole in ice” and cook the fishes for “Fish Head Feast” to treat the officials, sharing the peace and prosperity. Currently, the view of the Moon Lake is more charming. In spring, various kinds of birds settle down here and various kinds of wild flowers swarm to come out. Fish-flavored snacks at the Moon Lake are also characteristic, such as mixed raw fish and heated fish slices that can be said delicacies. The Moon Lake is a good place for boating, fishing, swimming, and preventing sunstroke.

“Han Dynasty Sites” at Moon Bubble

Yangshao Culture, Longshan Culture, and Shang and Zhou Bronze Age in the Central Plains are familiar by people. However, few people know that the ancient residents of the western Jilin Province also left a brilliant bronze culture - “Han Dynasty Sites”.

Han Dynasty Site is located at a ridgy loess hillock at the south bank of the Moon Bubble, one kilometer northeast away from Hanshu Village, Yueliangpao Town, Da’an City. After textual research, Han Dynasty Sites is the remains of human life in the Bronze Age. It is known as “an open-air museum” and “underground cultural relic warehouse” of Jilin Province, a key cultural relic protection unit of Jilin Province, and the typical Bronze Age culture location for three Northeast China provinces. On June 25, 2001, it was approved to be a national key cultural relic protection unit by the State Council of China.

Songhua Lake Fish Feast

Steamed White Fish

Steamed White Fish is one of well-known dishes in Jilin. Since ancient times, local people have steamed white fishes produced in the Songhua River with the river water to treat guests, which is a story passed on with approval. There are two approaches to cook the Steamed White Fish. For high-grade feast, the fish juice is mainly extracted with meal soup so that the fish tastes delicate without salty taste; according to the other approach, the meal soup is intruded into the fish body when steamed. For the two approaches, fresh fishes are needed.

Bream, Carp Fish, Mandarin Fish and White Fish that are produced in the Songhua Lake are famous fishes in Northeast China.

Qingling Fresh Fish

Qingling is a valley village in Jiaohe City under the jurisdiction of Jilin City, Jilin Province. Because it is close to scenic areas such as the Songhua Lake, Qingling Forest Park, and Hongye Valley, a large-scale Qingling fresh fish street is built here so that the local fish is well-known. Currently, the “Qingling fresh fish” has swum to Zhejiang and Shanghai, a land of fish and rice, and Guangdong and Beijing to swagger in delicacies.

The cooking of Qingling Fresh Fish is unique. A large fresh gold-squama carp is picked up from a pound until it will be processed. Then, the fish is dissected with a sharp knife. The ingredients include regular oil, salt, ginger and shallot and a special one “agastacherugosa” that is a local weed. The leaves are like feverfew, the color is similar to folium artemisiae argyi in South China, and the smell with drug flavor also is almost the same as folium artemisiae argyi. It deeply infiltrates into the fish along with gradually shrinking water. The fish tastes fresh and delicate and can promote the secretion of saliva of people.

All these are the largest-proportion miniature landscapes in China.

    Characteristic scenic spots

The well-known “Kangxi Spring” is at the scenic area of the Changchun World Landscape Park. It is recorded that in the twentieth year under the regime of Qing Dynasty Emperor Kangxi or AD 1681, the emperor made an inspection tour against the construction of courier stations from the capital city Shengjing (Shenzhen City currently) to Jilin. Shuangyang (Panjiatun Village ever was under the jurisdiction of Shuanyang) is the third station from Jilin to Shengjing. In early autumn at that time, due to fatigue all the way, when hitting Panjiatun Village, the emperor felt too thirsty to bear. Then, a stream of clear spring miraculously appeared in front of him. The emperor got down from the carriage to swig and acclaimed “how fresh and sweet the spring is! Good water! Good water!” The spring is still here and keeps flowing from summer to winter. Afterwards, people called it “Kangxi Spring” because the emperor ever drank the water.

The large-sized ornamental pear farm at the park also has a beautiful legend. When local hunters and medicine farmers paid a formal visit here, the emperor Kangxi obliged the pears brought with to them. Subsequently, these hunters and medicine farmers planted the pear seeds in the mountain. Miraculously, many pear trees grew. Year after year, the planting of pear trees has never stopped so that the pear farm has continued expanding to become the largest ornamental pear farm in the province with a land area of nearly 40 hectares and more than 5,000 pear trees. When reaching the time “a sudden evening breeze brings thousands of pear trees to bloom”, the pear farm becomes a major attraction in early spring.

There is a magical legend about the landscape of the park. Looking from the main entrance of the park, the landscape of the park is very like a “dragon chair” that is only for the emperor in ancient times, the mountain in face is like the backrest, and the mountains on the two sides are just like the two handrails, giving people a sense of well-being and good luck. According to the legend, all people who came here and lived here have turned up trumps. Although this is just a legend with no research, many tourists still look forward to coming to have a look and praying for luck.

Notes for Self-driving in Spring

There are three thematic elements: spring, destination and self-driving. The spring has come and we have selected travel destinations well. What issues shall we pay attention to in vehicles and driving for our self-driving in spring?

 1. Pay Attention to Vehicle Inspection

Since it is self-driving tours, vehicles preparation is very important. The vehicles will have a direct impact on the effect of the tours. For a vehicle, you should check out if there is leakage in the gasoline, engine oil antifreeze, transmission fluid, and brake fluid. If you find a leakage, you must handle it at a maintenance station in time and cannot drive a problem vehicle. Besides tools with the vehicle, you are advised to take some small parts that are used to handle simple failures, such as car warranty wires, general wrenches, air pumps, and electric water-proof tapes. Before going out, you also should check the lighting system of the vehicle and if the wipers need to be replaced. Please bring along all relevant procedures of the vehicle, such as vehicle insurance, driving license, vehicle manual, and lists of service stations in different places.

2. Pay Attention to Tour Distance Control

The Chinese Spring Festival has just gone and there is no long-term vocation currently, so all tours should be short-term. Then, you should select a destination within 400 meters so that you can reach within half a day. This will leave enough time for you on the way and sight-seeing. Deducting the time for return, you can give yourself a rest. Meanwhile, you are advised to shift the departure to earlier time to avoid the traffic jams to influence your travel arrangements.

3. Pay Attention to Route Selection

Routes are very important for self-driving tours. Before going out, you should master the situation of destinations and know main routes to the destinations and the road condition. If encounter road construction or re-routing so that you need to bypass, please plan more trip time in advance. When going out, a map should be prepared well. If having a GPS, please take it, but it is not omnipotent. If the navigation software does not contain information of roads to the destinations, the help by GPS is very limited. So, please take both the map and GPS.

4. Pay Attention to Driving Safety

When driving, the safety comes first. Seat belts must be fastened. Do not think your vehicles’ air bags are enough to keep you safe. The air bags are used in conjunction with the seat belts. If you do not use the seat belts, more air bags cannot ensure your safety. In addition to drivers, all people sitting on the co-pilot position must wear seat belts well because it actually is the most insecure position.

When driving, the speed should not be too fast, especially on the highway. The reaction of people will fall when driving on the highway for a long time, so if you drive faster at this time, there will be less time leaving to you to react when encountering any danger. Do not follow others’ car too closely, which should be paid attention to by both large and small vehicles. In particular, please take enough care when surpassed by a big truck or surpassing it.

When encountering a vehicle breakdown, you need to park at roadside, turn on the hazard lights (double flash), and place a hazard warning sign in the rear, according to the traffic law. If on the highway, you should place the hazard warning sign 200 meters away from the location of your vehicle. Then, all people should leave the vehicles to prevent from secondary accident.

 5. Pay Attention to Driving on Different Roads

Mountain roads: To drive on mountain roads is not as terrible as people imagine. Only if you control the speed properly and notice traffic signs on roadside, there will be no problem.

Night driving: Night driving should be avoided as much as possible in a long-distance self-driving. First, night driving is not safe. Second, self-driving tourists who are not familiar with the roads are easy to go wrong paths. Once you have to drive at night, some issues need to be paid attention to. Currently, most highways and national and provincial roads do not have street lights. In this case, drivers are willing to use the high beam light. Therefore, the headlights of vehicles in face extremely glare. Some vehicles in the same driving direction do not turn on taillights, which also very easily results in rear-end accidents. So, try not to drive at night.

Highway: For a long-distance trip, the highway is a more safe and efficient choice. However, in the event of an accident, the consequences will be more severe. When driving in the highway, you should keep a sufficient distance with other vehicles, which also leaves a safe space for yourself and meanwhile should drive in accordance with the highway limit-speed regulations. There is another problem. When driving on the highway, people are easier to feel tired because the scene on the highway is single and long-time driving will increase the fatigue of drivers. When driving, you can prepare some favorite songs for listening on the road. Other riders are better not to be sleepy once getting on and should more chat with the drivers to break through the dead-alive atmosphere. If the drivers feel very tired, they should park vehicles to the highway emergency line for a rest but not in middle of the highway. Generally, when driving for two hours, drivers should have a rest for 10 to 15 minutes. They can get off to do some stretching activities to relieve fatigue. If conditions permit, alternate driving is a good choice.

6. Pay Attention to Sense of Team

Now, many self-driving activities are organized by automobile fans organizations or automobile clubs. The number of vehicles participating in the activities sometimes may be large. In this case, please pay special attention to maintain the type of motorcade and do not overtake other cars randomly. Vehicles of the motorcade should maintain a safe distance each other. If conditions permit, the motorcade should equip with a broadcasting station to facilitate the commanding and scheduling. If the motorcade is relatively larger, drivers in the middle should try not to occupy the communication channels to leave it to the head and tail vehicles to report road conditions timely. This is very important for the motorcade’s safety.

7. Pay Attention to Rest

Continuous multi-day self-driving and sight-seeing will make people feel very tired. In this case, a good rest is necessary. The high-intensity driving on the daytime will make drivers very easy to fatigue. If not have a good rest, the drivers will feel sleepy on the way. Fatigue driving is very bad for security. Therefore, during self-driving tours, drivers first should pay much attention to rest. Do not linger to rest due to too much excitement, which is very bad for driving.

Then, you may think all preparations for self-driving tours have finished. It is not right. We may encounter a lot of unexpected problems and emergencies during self-driving tours, so we also need to prepare following necessary items.

Certificates and Cash

Credit cards, fuel cards, ID cards, driver's licenses, driving permit, payment of invoices for vehicle and vessel usage tax and highway maintenance tax, address lists recording contact information of insurance firms and rescue companies, and a certain amount of cash are necessary for emergency.

Tools for Driving

Vehicle-based large-power interphones, GPS satellite positioning system, cameras, various types of battery chargers, maps, compasses, mud tires, auxiliary lighting, spare tires, a complete set of tools necessary for repairing vehicles, tow ropes, tire repair agents, spare engine oil, spare water bottles, and consumable wearing parts such as safety wires and tire screws depending on vehicles are advised to be taken.

Camping Supplies and Special Clothing

Sleeping bags, damp-proof mats, floor mats, tents, gas stoves, cylinder gas, cooking pots, utensils, lighters, water bottles, and clothes, outdoor shoes, sunscreen cream, sunscreen lipsticks, etc. suitable to climates of tour destinations are suggested to be taken.

First-aid Kit

Cold medicine, anti-inflammatory drugs, berberine, tourniquet bandages, Band-Aid, vitamin tablets, eye drops, safflower oil, and other first-aid medicines are necessary.

Functional Food and Beverage

It is not an easy thing to find a store in a strange place. Therefore, hard bread and adequate drinking water reserves are essential for self-driving tours.

Now everything is on deck. Let us take our friends and families, drive our vehicles, and be happy to the self-driving destinations in spring 2011!
