Longhua Temple Scenic Area is located at the Ningjiang Forest Park, Songyuan City, Jilin Province and at the bank of the second Songhua River. Longhua Temple, the largest temple in Asia, is located at the scenic area and takes up 106 hectares, three kilometers away from the urban area. The main body of Longhua Temple is divided into two parts, including palace halls in the west side and “Buddha College” and “Discipline School” that are used to raise the level of Buddhist monks in the east side. The whole temple consists of 48 courtyards, in which over 200 buildings with different styles are distributed symmetrically, and covers a total building area of 42,200 square meters. Currently, Longhua Temple contains over 20 palace halls such as Hongfa Building, Nianfo Hall, Dicang Palace, Meditation Room, Hufa Palace, Gongde Hall, Yaoshi Palace, Yunshui Palace, Zhonggu Building, Tianwang Palace, East and West Side Palace, and Daxiong Temple. Among them, Daxiong Temple is grand by scale, in which Buddha figures are above ten meters high each. Daxiong Temple is 46.5 meters tall, covers a land area of 13,700 square meters and a building area of 10,000 square meters, and is the core center for Buddhist activities at Longhua Temple.
