Jilin Confucius Temple

It is located at the Jilin Confucius Temple court, No. 2 Nanchang Road, Changyi District, Jilin City, about one kilometer away from the downtown. The temple, the earliest Confucius Temple in Jilin, was approved by the Qing Dynasty Emperor Qianlong in 1736 and started construction under the supervision of Yongji Prefecture’s second magistrate Wei Shimin in 1742. The current Confucius Temple was repaired in 1907. The temple consists of a sanctuary, wing rooms, walls and courtyards. The south-north length is 221 meters, the east-west width is 74 meters, and the total area is 16,354 square meters. In addition to Dacheng Gate, Dacheng Hall, and Chongsheng Hall, the main body also includes auxiliary buildings such as screen walls, east and west outer gates, Panchi (pool front school in ancient times), and Zhuangyuan Bridge (No. 1 Scholar Bridge). Jilin Confucius Temple is the largest Confucian temple in Northeast China, mainly introducing the Confucianism, Confucian culture, life story of Confucius, Chinese ancient imperial examination system, Chinese ancient architecture, and ancient stone tablets.
