What is a school for children of foreign nationals? How is it managed?

With Chinese government’s special permission, schools for children of foreign nationals have been established with a view to providing educational services for school-age foreigners who are residing in China legally. The former State Education Commission promulgated the Interim Measures for the Administration of Establishment of Schools for Children of Foreign Nationals in 1995, clearly stipulating the grade levels covered by such a school, the requirements for applicants and affairs related to teaching process.

In the light of the Decision of the State Council on Canceling and Adjusting the sixth batch of Administrative Examination and Approval Items, the right to examine and approve the schools for children of foreign nationals has been handed down to the provincial educational departments, therefore, strengthening localized management and overall planning at the provincial level.

2.Changchun American International School (Since July 4, 2007)
