Yanji-Longjing-Tumen New Area Built the Tumen River Area’s International Central City
Since the provincial government formally agreed to build Yanji-Longjing-Tumen New Area (Jilin Yanji-Longjing-Tumen cultural tourism area) to be a provincial development zone, Yanji-Longjing-Tumen New Area, with green development as the theme, cultural tourism as the guide and the modern service industry as a support, has strived to build a development pattern "two mountains, two rivers, three wings and five parks", built a new carrier for the integrated development of Yanji-Longjing-Tumen economy, a new highland for the province’s green transformation and development, a new platform for Changchun-Jilin-Tumen development and open-up and a new coordinate for the Northeast Asia cultural tourism development. Currently, a number of projects have completed the expert review and will start construction soon.
“Here is the core area of Yanji-Longjing-Tumen New Area. In the next few years, here will become a new tourist area to have both yachts and entertainment and leisure projects." On March 10, the reporter walked into Yanji Hailan Lake Scenic Area, located at the junction of Yanji, Tumen and Longjing, and Yanji-Longjing-Tumen New Area Planning and Construction Committee Deputy Director Tai Chenghuan introduced the future development direction of Yanji-Longjing-Tumen New Area.
Yanji-Longjing-Tumen New Area, located in the core area of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture and the junction of Yanji, Longjing and Tumen, extended to Mapai Village, Yueqing Town, Tumen City in east, Maoer Mountain Forest Farm, Yanji City in west, Dongsheng Village, Dongshengyong Town, Longjing City in south and Longjia Village, Chang’an town, Tumen City in north.
Yanji-Longjing-Tumen New Area has a planned area of 265 square kilometers, including a starting area of 100 square kilometers and an expansion area of 165 square kilometers, as well as a construction land area of 43 square kilometers. The new area is surrounded by mountains and waters and has Hailan Lake Scenic Area, Donglai Temple, national cultural relics and other cultural landscapes.
With Chengzi Mountain and Jiulong Mountain as the core, fully build a cultural tourism industry park with landmark historical sites and natural landscapes in the Northeast Asia region; with the Buertong River and Hailan River as the axis, rationally deploy ecological experience, cultural corridor, folk show, special food, agricultural tourism and other projects to form a landscape belt with mountain and water interaction and lingering waters; with the cultural tourism park as the core area, extend and develop towards Tumen’s Yueting Town, Longjing’s Dongshengyong Town and Tongmen’s Chang’an Town, form the new area’s group-type convenient connection, and form a compact town, open countryside and modern living environment integrating industry, culture and life; in accordance with the rational layout and dislocated development principle, plan the construction of five parks with distinctive characteristics, complete facilities, interconnection and mutual support, such as cultural tourism industrial park, health industrial park, eco-agriculture tourism and health industrial park, dinosaur ruins park, and folk experience park.
"The new area’s core area will build four landscape bridges and three main roads, Xiaohelong ecological park, viewing platform, the first tribe of the Korean people, tourist service centers, etc.", introduced Tai Chenghuan. Currently, Xiaohelong ecological park has basically completed the preliminary work and is now waiting for inviting a tender. The viewing platform project is being designed. Xiaohelong ecological park is expected to start construction by the end of this March. From May to June, the roads and bridges will start construction.
According to the plan, it is expected the starting area will be basically completed, the scenic spots will be connected, the service facilities will be complete and the brand effect will be basically formed by 2020. By 2030, the starting area’s functions will be extended to the surrounding areas to form a frontier regional center city in Northeast Asia with a reasonable space layout, complete infrastructure, highly developed modern service industry, and rich and harmonious life for the people.
