On November 25, Han Jun, deputy secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and governor of the province, visited the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone for inspection on planning to promote the province's opening-up next year. He stressed the need to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions, fully implement the guiding principles of the third symposium on the development of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), implement the "one pillar, six doubles" high-quality development strategy in accordance with requirements of the provincial Party committee and government, actively participate in the building of the BRI, highlight local strengths and features, build platform carriers, make innovations in systems and mechanisms, speed up efforts to shore up weak links in openness, and strive to foster an important window for China's opening-up to the north and a hub for cooperation in Northeast Asia.

The China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone is an important carrier for strengthening China-ROK economic and trade relations and deepening regional economic cooperation in Northeast Asia. In Jilin Lanpu Haoye Technology Co Ltd, Han Jun learned about the company's technological innovation and R&D of medical masks and encouraged it to align with world-class standards, to step up cooperation with research institutes and to develop more innovative products relying on the province's special resources like ginseng. He urged relevant parties to accelerate the integration of inspection and testing resources, provide one-stop services, shorten the approval period, and help industrial development. After visiting the China-ROK City Pavilion, Han called for efforts to clarify positioning, perfect functions, uphold diversified development, attract more South Korean enterprises in the fields of food, cosmetics and household appliances, hold exhibitions and sales, investment and trade, summits and forums and other events on a regular basis, actively develop cross-border e-commerce and other new business forms and models, improve supporting facilities such as catering, accommodation, transportation, logistics and business communication, and build a comprehensive platform for economic and trade exchanges facing the whole country and even Northeast Asia. At the project site of the Cold Chain Logistics Industrial Park, Han called for speeding up the project construction, improving the platform service functions, expanding the service radius, and providing whole-process and full-time cold chain logistics services for enterprises in the park as soon as possible. 
During the inspection, Han Jun presided over a symposium to listen to reports from the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone and enterprise representatives. After expressing appreciation for the relevant work, Han said that the BRI is an important strategic measure proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping to promote all-round opening-up. He also said that Jilin located at an important node of the BRI should further give full play to its advantages, plan carefully and deliver more fruitful outcomes from the high-quality development of the BRI. First, speed up the construction of corridors. We should improve the interconnection layout of land, sea, air and internet. Second, speed up the building of open platforms. We should release the platform carrier effect of the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone and the Hunchun Marine Economy Development Demonstration Zone, actively apply for the establishment of a free trade zone and other new platforms, and ensure the success of the 26th Local Governments Summit in Northeast Asia and other major events. Third, speed up the promotion of industrial cooperation. We should focus on the fields of automobile, new energy, new materials, modern food, medicine and health care and photoelectric information to attract a number of industry leading enterprises and to launch a batch of large and good projects. Fourth, speed up the improvement of policy systems. We should provide guarantee services in terms of credit, talents and land to meet the needs of enterprises, support enterprises in solving problems and developing in an innovative way, and strive to create a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment.
