Video conference on China-Belarus scientific and technological innovation cooperation held

China-Belarus scientific and technological innovation cooperation conference was held the other day. The conference connected guests from Changchun, Beijing and Minsk, the capital city of Belarus, via the video link, which aimed at strengthening exchanges and interactions, joining hands to deepen cooperation, promoting mutual benefits and win-win results and achieving new achievements in scientific and technological innovation cooperation in the new era. Jing Junhai, deputy secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and governor of the province and Shumilin, chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus, attended the conference and delivered speeches. 
 
On behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, Jing Junhai welcomed all the guests. China and Belarus are all-weather good friends, Jing said, adding that Jilin province attaches great importance to the cooperation with Belarus and holding the video conference is an important measure to implement the outcomes of the exchange visits between the two heads of state, as well as a significant result in actively responding to the Belt and Road Initiative. Jing said that hopefully, both sides will work together to build platforms and smooth channels, so as to promote cooperation to a higher and deeper level. He urged both sides to deepen cooperation in science and technology, talents and platforms and to accelerate the construction of projects such as China-Belarus Science and Technology Park and China-Belarus International Innovation Center for more win-win results. He also said that efforts should be made in developing key industries such as modern new automobile industry and aerospace industry, deploying innovation chains around industrial chains, arranging industrial chains around innovation chains and jointly tackling key technological problems to realize high-level complementary strengths. He added that the two sides should take exchanges as the link to improve their exchange mechanism, to expand trade cooperation and to enhance traditional friendship, so as to make more contributions to opening new prospects for the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
Shumilin said that strengthening cooperation in scientific and technological innovation will help the two sides jointly meet the challenges of global competition. He also said that Belarus is to actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative, to deepen the all-round scientific and technological cooperation with China and to jointly promote the construction of cooperation projects like China-Belarus Science and Technology Park to attract more high-tech enterprises and projects.
