At the opening ceremony, Jing Junhai read out the approval of the State Council on the master plan for the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone. Subsequently, Bayanqolu and Jing Junhai unveiled the nameplate of the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone, Bayanqolu and Wang Kai, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Party secretary of Changchun city, unveiled the nameplate of the Party Working Committee of China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone, Jing Junhai and Zhang Zhijun, mayor of Changchun city, unveiled the nameplate of the Management Committee of China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone.

Bayanqolu stressed that the provincial Party committee and the provincial government are to provide strong support in planning formulation, industrial development, project layout, opening up to the outside world, as well as fiscal, tax, financial system and land. He said that the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone should carry out all-round foreign cooperation in the industrial, scientific, technological, trade, cultural, environmental protection and other fields, cooperate with systems and mechanisms on innovation, foster a modern industrial system, create a law-based, internationalized and facilitation business environment, and build itself into an international cooperation demonstration zone with more coordinated management and efficient services.

 

Bayanqolu called for efforts to highlight the industrial transformation, to advance the development of both Changchun New Area and China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone, and to vigorously develop leading industries such as high-end equipment, medicines supply and medical treatment, healthy food, digital economy and modern service industry. He also stressed the need to focus on opening up and cooperation, to further broaden the strategic vision, to deepen the cooperation on Belt and Road Initiative, and to promote the interconnection and tripartite support among the hinterland, frontier and window of the Chang-Ji-Tu Development and Opening-up Pilot Area.
