To celebrate China's Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture will launch the 2024 Cultural and Natural Heritage Day Exhibition and Summer Tourism Season on June 8. Organized by the Yanbian Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, the event will provide local citizens and tourists with a wonderful cultural and tourism feast through a series of promotion and interactive experience activities.
With the theme of "Protect and Inherit Intangible Cultural Heritage, Carry Forward the Fine Historical Traditions, Promote Exchanges and Integration through Tourism, and Achieve the Biggest Synergy Possible", the event aims to showcase new achievements in the protection and utilization of cultural heritage in the new era, promote cultural exchanges, integration and interaction through tourism, carry forward traditional Chinese festival culture, guide people of all ethnic groups to enhance their sense of Chinese cultural identity, forge a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, and boost the high-quality development of summer tourism.
The Yanbian Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism carefully plans 14 activities for the event. On June 8, the bureau will hold the opening ceremony of the summer tourism season and release tourism routes at the Arirang Square in Yanji city. Tourists will have the opportunity to watch the exhibition of intangible cultural heritage projects, enjoy the unique charm of traditional crafts, and experience folk customs of the Dragon Boat Festival.
In addition, a series of cultural activities will be launched in the Yanbian Library. The story of the Dragon Boat Festival will be told in the form of stamps, so that tourists can understand the historical and cultural significant of the festival. Tourists will also be invited to paint the Tuanshan (round fan) to experience the charm of traditional culture. These activities will comprehensively showcase Yanbian's cultural and tourism resources, as well as cultural heritage protection achievements.
The "Protect and Inherit Intangible Cultural Heritage, Carry Forward Traditional Folk Songs" event will be held in communities this month. Meanwhile, the Jilin Province Intangible Cultural Heritage Skills Competition is set to kick off, providing a platform for inheritors to showcase their skills and share experiences. These activities aim to enrich people's intellectual and cultural lives, promote rural revitalization, and enhance the public's sense of participation and gain in the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage.
The 2024 Cultural and Natural Heritage Day Exhibition and Summer Tourism Season will provide local citizens and tourists with an unforgettable cultural and tourism experience, and will further advance the protection of cultural heritage and the integrated development of the tourism sector in Yanbian.
