Supply chain of automobile industry restarts in Jilin province, with production resumption of 5 factories of FAW Group

At present, FAW Hongqi Weishan factory, FAW-Volkswagen and FAW Fengyue have realized the offline of vehicles, while FAW Bestune and FAW Jiefang have completed the debugging of production lines. All 5 automobile factories of FAW Group in Changchun have resumed production, playing a positive role in activating the automobile industry chain of the province.
As an important pillar industry, the automobile industry of the province has taken the lead in resuming work and production, which is of great significance. The provincial Party committee and the provincial government have attached great importance to the work resumption of FAW and its supply chain enterprises. The provincial, municipal and district governments have jointly set up a special task force with FAW to study solutions to auto parts supplies, employee return, logistics and other problems holding up FAW's work resumption. Meanwhile, relevant departments directly under the provincial government and the Changchun municipal government have further improved policies and measures and transferred employees back to factories of FAW and its supporting enterprises point to point, providing strong support for the stable operation of the industrial and supply chains.
Changchun Automobile Economic and Technological Development Zone has rolled out a series of measures to support the production resumption of auto parts manufacturers. As of April 17, the Auto Parts Industry Service Bureau of the zone offered the door-to-door nucleic acid testing service to 25 enterprises with 10,745 samples tested and distributed 8 batches of antigen test kits to 15 enterprises, realizing 12,635 closed-loop rapid tests in total. The bureau also provided protective suits and N95 masks for key enterprises, coordinated the delivery of vegetables for 5 enterprises with on-post employees, distributed 7,196 packs of traditional Chinese medicine to 20 enterprises in need, and issued 1,043 passes to secure emergency supplies. 
With the full support of governments at all levels, auto parts manufactures in the whole province are accelerating the resumption of operation. 
While the FAW Hongqi Weishan factory took the lead in resuming production, the first batch of 47 suppliers resumed work simultaneously. To data, FAW Group and 502 auto parts suppliers have resumed work and seen the return of 37,600 employees. All the tier one suppliers of each factory of FAW have resumed work and production.
On April 16, employees wearing N95 masks were working on the two intelligent production lines of Fawer Hanon (Changchun) Auto Parts Co in an orderly manner. The company mainly produces auto air compressors, electric pumps and electric control valves, which has obtained the supplier qualification of Volkswagen's MQB and MEB platform projects and Hongqi's EV project. Li Huan, deputy head of the production department, said that at present, the company's two production lines of auto air compressors and electric refrigerant valves have resumed operation, with a capacity recovery rate of 80 percent
On April 15, Benteler Changrui (Changchun) Automobile System Co resumed production. The company mainly produces automobile chassis and structural parts. To date, 196 workers have been back to the production workshop, with a return rate of 73 percent and a resumption rate of more than 80 percent. "Since the first day the company resumed work, the Chaoyang district government has provide strong support for us. With the work resumption of sub-tier suppliers, the company's output can meet 100 percent of customer needs," said Cui Mei, general manager of the company. 
In the next step, the province will support FAW to build epidemic-free factories and to offer point-to-point employee transfer services, promote the work resumption of enterprises in a fast and orderly manner, improve the production load, release the production capacity, and strive to achieve stable and full production.
