16th China Changchun Film Festival set to open from Dec 21 to 25

The 16th China Changchun Film Festival will open in Changchun from December 21 to 25, according to the first meeting and press conference of the festival's organizing committee held on the morning of November 19. It will be hosted by China Media Group and the Jilin provincial government and organized by the Changchun municipal government.
The regular theme of the China Changchun Film Festival is "New Era, New Cradle and New Strength". This year's festival on the theme of "Taking Film as a Ceremony, Paying Tribute to the Centenary of the CPC" will highlight the characteristics of centenary, cradle, ice and snow and launch six main units (may be adjusted according to the requirements of epidemic prevention and control) including the opening and closing ceremonies, film awards, film screenings, film forum, saluting cradle and mass culture. Starting from this year, the biennial festival has been adjusted to an annual event. 
The opening ceremony is planned to be held at the Changchun Wuhuan Gymnasium. The film awards unit will focus on excellent Chinese filmmakers and film works, highlighting mainstream values. The film screenings unit will carry out Red Changchun patriotic film exhibition, Chinese comedy film exhibition, female film exhibition, film exhibition of three generations of filmmakers, etc. The film forum will invite outstanding film creators, film industry veterans and academic research experts to discuss the future of film. The saluting cradle unit will adopt the "1 + X" mode to display the new image of Changchun Film Studio to the whole country. The mass culture unit will highlight the "Taking Film as a Ceremony, Celebrating the Centenary of the CPC" theme, presenting a variety of film culture activities. The closing ceremony and the Golden Deer Award will be held at the concert hall of Changchun Film Studio. Hosted by China Media Group, the Golden Deer Award includes 10 categories such as Best Film, Jury Prize, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Music, Best Film Editing and Best First Feature.
