On July 26, the launch ceremony of the 8th Jilin Citizen Cultural Festival and "Starting a New Journey after 100 Years of Struggle" theme symphonic concert tour was held in Jilin People's Grand Theatre, officially opening the annual citizen cultural event of the province. Shi Yugang, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and director of the publicity department, attended the event.

The event was organized by the Publicity Department of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Jilin Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Jilin Writers Association, the Jilin Radio and Television Station, the Jilin municipal Party committee and the Jilin municipal government, and was hosted by the Publicity Department of the Jilin Municipal Party Committee and Changchun Film Studio Group.

After the launch ceremony, a symphonic concert with the theme of "Starting a New Journey after 100 Years of Struggle" presented by the Changchun Film Orchestra was staged. The concert selected classic film and television pictures and music created by writers and artists since the founding of New China, reflecting the Party's construction and development process and the Party leading the people to a happy life. With six parts including "Prologue", "Freeze • Glorious Days on Film", "Focus • Struggle Footprints in Light and Shadow", "Editing • Happy Time on Screen", "Close-up • Sing a Folk Song to the Party" and "End", more than 10 popular Red classic film music and songs intertwined the century-old memory of the Communist Party of China into a harmonious and magnificent music feast. 

This year's cultural festival will run until the end of September, and more than 1,000 activities at the provincial, municipal and county levels will be held, including art performances, cultural contests, exhibitions, lectures and seminars, evaluation, etc. The festival aims to enrich people's cultural life and enhance their sense of gain and happiness.
