On April 26, the launch ceremony of the Carbon-neutral Industrial Park Project of the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone and signing ceremony of the SPIC Changchun Hydrogen Industrial Base Project was held. The Carbon-neutral Industrial Park is a specific action of the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone to implement the provincial "one pillar, six doubles" industrial spatial layout, as well as an important measure for the zone to have a keen grasp of the new development stage, integrate into the new development pattern, accelerate the implementation of the land Three Gorges Project and implement the strategic decision and plan for the construction of Changchun-Baicheng hydrogen energy corridor.
The industrial park will cover an area of 670,000 square meters with a planned investment of over 10 billion yuan. It is to build a SPIC hydrogen energy comprehensive utilization industrial base, a hydrogen production equipment manufacturing base, a hydrogen battery production and R&D center, a carbon trading center and other supporting facilities.
The China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone will rely on SPIC Hydrogen Energy Co Ltd, SPIC Jilin Electric Power Co Ltd and other domestic and foreign companies to speed up hydrogen production, extend hydrogen demonstration and application to more settings, build a hydrogen equipment manufacturing base and hydrogen industry highland and boost the high-quality development of the hydrogen industry. Meanwhile, the zone will vigorously develop the hydrogen fuel cell stack and key core components to the hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle industry cluster, so as to contribute to the construction of Changchun International Auto City. According to the working requirements of "Connecting Changchun and Sharing Development" of the provincial Party committee, the zone will interconnect with Baicheng, Yanbian and other regions through the hydrogen energy industry for paired-up development and win-win cooperation, actively promote international cooperation on cutting-edge hydrogen energy technology and explore markets in Japan, South Korea and even Northeast Asia.
