At 10:50 am on April 9, the last 500-meter-long track was successfully laid to the junction point at the track construction site of Dunhua South Station of the Dunhua-Baihe high-speed railway, marking the completion of the track laying work of the high-speed railway from Dunhua to Baihe.
As a part of the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network planned by the state, the Dunhua-Baihe high-speed railway is located in Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture of Jilin province. It starts from Erdaobaihe town by way of Antu county and ends at Dunhua city, with a total length of 113 km and a maximum design speed of 250 km per hour. There are four stations along the line, namely Changbai Mountain, Yongqing, Dunhua South and Dunhua (existing). The Dunhua-Baihe high-speed railway officially started construction on August 16, 2017, and is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic in 2021.
The Dunhua-Baihe high-speed railway is the southward extension of the Changchun-Hunchun high-speed railway. It forms a loop line of express passenger railway in the southeast Jilin province with the planned Shenyang-Baihe railway (Tonghua-Baihe section) and the Siping-Tonghua passenger transport line. Through connecting with the Beijing-Harbin high-speed railway, an efficient and convenient passenger transport network from Northeast China to all parts of the country is formed.
