At the recent 2021 national culture and tourism consumption training session, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism held an award ceremony for the first batch of national cultural and tourism consumption demonstration cities. The participant from Changchun city came to the stage to receive the "national culture and tourism consumption demonstration city" award.
Since Changchun became one of the first batch of national cultural consumption pilot cities in June 2016, it has focused on the core goal of "creating effective, sustainable cultural consumption patterns that can be replicated and promoted", coordinated 22 government agencies, as well as 15 county (county-level city) member units, effectively integrated and scientifically coordinated the market resources of diverse industries and fields, and implemented innovative measures including cultural and art into shops, culture and art vouchers and coupons, cultural and artistic training, cultural consumption subsidy, "double top ten" selection, etc. On December 25, 2020, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance announced the first batch of national cultural and tourism consumption demonstration cities. Changchun is the only city in Northeast China to receive the honor, realizing a new leap from a pilot city to a demonstration city.
