On January 17, Changchun reported 13 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases, and all of them were re-categorized from previously reported asymptomatic cases under medical isolation and observation in designated hospitals.
Locally-transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported in Lvyuan district, Erdao district and Gongzhuling city of Changchun. The epidemic-control office of Changchun issued a notice on further epidemic prevention and control measures. According to the notice:
Strictly implement the containment requirements in medium-risk areas to stop the virus from spreading outside. People at medium risk are forbidden to leave the area, and people under quarantine are not allowed to leave their homes.
The general public should always keep the awareness of personal protection and implement self-protection measures. Wear masks correctly, wash hands frequently, ventilate regularly, gather less, and maintain proper social distance. If you have any symptom such as fever and cough, you should wear a disposable medical mask, go to the fever clinic of a designated hospital for investigation and treatment, and try to avoid taking public transportation.
