Due to the northward movement of the Yangtze River-Huaihe River cyclone, Jilin province sees freezing rain and snow weather starting at noon on the 17th. According to the provincial weather forecast, heavy snow and snowstorms are expected in Songyuan, Changchun, Siping, Jilin, Yanbian and other regions, and some of these regions will see blizzards in recent days. The temperature of the whole province continues to drop from the western region to the eastern region. Level 5-6 gales are expected in the central and western regions, with a maximum wind force reaching level 9.

In view of the above situation, Jilin province decides to raise its meteorological disasters (snow disaster, freezing damage, gale) emergency response from level IV to III. The Provincial Meteorological Bureau’s service leading group, as well as its subordinate sections and directly affiliated units swiftly enter the level III emergency response state of major meteorological disasters (snow disaster, freezing damage and gale). Meteorological bureaus of all cities (prefectures and management committees) shall adjust corresponding emergency response levels according to local conditions.
