On the morning of August 28, the opening ceremony of the 13th China (Changchun) Folk Art Fair was held on the Changjiang Road pedestrian street in Kuancheng district, Changchun city.

The fair will last for 10 days from August 28 to September 6, with theme exhibition areas for artworks by top folk artists, arts and crafts works, jewelry and jade, cultural and creative products, as well as famous and high-quality specialty products.

During the exhibition, a series of activities will also be launched, such as selection of excellent folk arts and crafts works of Jilin province, treasure appraisal by authoritative experts and lucky draw. Cultural and creative elements of colleges and universities also appear at the exhibition, among which more than 1,000 pieces of cultural and creative works and design crafts by teachers and students from the School of Humanities of Northeast Normal University make an impression. According to the working staff of the fair, displaying applied education and teaching achievements and college students' cultural and creative products is a perfect combination of teaching and practice and also a beneficial attempt in school-enterprise cooperation to provide an opportunity and a platform for college students to display their creative ideas.

This year’s fair, as always, will carry out cultural activities to benefit people. In the meantime, the daily opening hours of the exhibition will be slightly extended to 9 pm because of the particular characteristics of open site. Visitors can enjoy delicious street food on the pedestrian street while appreciating exquisite artworks.
