On July 28, the Information Office of the Jilin Provincial Government held a press conference on foreign trade import and export. According to customs statistics, in the first half of this year, the total value of Jilin province's imports and exports in goods reached 62.19 billion yuan, 0.6 percentage points higher than that of the whole country with the smallest drop in Northeast China. The growth rate of import and export trade ranked twelfth in the country. Exports were 14.68 billion yuan and imports were 47.51 billion yuan.
In the first half of the year, the proportion of foreign trade import and export in Jilin province’s general trade continued to grow. The main import and export markets were the EU, Japan, ASEAN, South Korea and Russia, and the import and export trade to Japan grew rapidly, while the EU was still the largest trading partner of the province. The imports and exports of private enterprises bucked the trend with continued growth, playing a more prominent role in the stable growth of foreign trade. In the first half of the year, the imports and exports of private enterprises reached 13.69 billion yuan, up 3.2 percent.
According to Changchun Customs, in the next phase, efforts should be made to coordinate the epidemic prevention and control work at ports and promote the stable growth of foreign trade. The customs is to continuously improve the business environment at ports, help enterprises explore the international market and promote the opening up of the whole province at a higher level.
