Highlights of Jilin province’s economic development in Q2

This year, Jilin province has set up 86 project centers at the provincial, municipal and county levels to track the progress. For the projects affected by the epidemic, all parts of the province have taken such measures as telephone visits to investors, online examination and approval as well as cloud investment attraction, so as to promote the construction of those projects in an all-out effort.  

The supporting role of key areas has continuously emerged. Changchun has implemented guarantees for industrial chain supporting, factor chain supply, transport chain smooth, emergency material production, enterprise employment, financing demand and policy support, so as to make great efforts to promote the work and production resumption of industrial enterprises. Up to now, 865 projects above 50 million yuan have launched and resumed work in Changchun city with marked rebound of effective investment, the industrial economy has achieved positive growth with nearly 100 percent of work and production resumption of enterprises, and the market entities of private economy have been expected to reach 860,000 with a year-on-year increase of 22 percent. The construction of the 10-billion-level Non-antibiotic Biological Industrial Park project has accelerated in Jilin’s Panshi city, as well as the construction of the Jilin Chemical Fiber Group’s large-tow carbon fiber project with annual production of 8,000 tons. At present, Jilin city has implemented 11 industrial park projects with the bond issuance of 2.4 billion yuan, accounting for 44 percent of the total issued bonds. The industrial park projects will create more favorable conditions for the agglomeration and industrial chain extension of carbon fiber, chemical and automobile industries. 
 
The online celebrity economy, nighttime economy, festival economy and stay economy bloomed in the second quarter. Commodities were sold to the countryside and the best agricultural products were sold online. Commercial and trading enterprises started to access to the internet and media influencers boosted the live commerce. Yanbian's local dishes such as Kimchi and rice attracted a large number of netizens. As of May, the online transaction volume of Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture exceeded 8.12 million yuan, accounting for 42 percent of the total sales volume, up 319 percent year on year.
