Tourism and Sports Consumption Year campaign launched in Jilin province

Starting from July 1, 2020, the Jilin Tourism and Sports Consumption Year campaign hosted by the Jilin provincial government has been gradually launched.

On June 30, the Information Office of the Jilin Provincial Government held a press conference on the consumption year campaign. A Dong, vice-governor of the province, attended the conference and introduced the relevant situation. The Jilin Tourism and Sports Consumption Year campaign focuses on the development of locally characteristic consumer products such as summer resorts, ice-snow sports, sports events, medical and health, culture and entertainment, business exhibitions, wedding services, local food, nighttime economy and RV camping, so as to attract tourists and sports enthusiasts to Jilin for vacation and leisure sports and to further expand the popularity and reputation of the province. 
The warm-up period of the consumption year campaign ran from June 15 to June 30. During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, Jilin province received 1.91 million tourists, a year-on-year recovery of 53 percent with 1.8 percentage points higher than the national average. The total tourism revenue reached 1.76 billion yuan, a year-on-year recovery of 42.5 percent with 11.3 percentage points higher than the national average.  
 
From July 1 to the end of the year, the main task of the consumption year campaign is to expand the work and production resumption of tourism, culture and sports industries, so as to gradually restore domestic tourism. Create a batch of health and ecotourism routes and launch a series of new self-driving activities. Carry out publicity activities on the theme of Changbai Mountain such as the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve and the 40th anniversary of the designation of Changbai Mountain as a world nature reserve by UNESCO. Launch a series of creative marketing activities and tourism towns with local characteristics by focusing on the featured products such as leisure tourism, folk festivals, boutique B&B, farming experience, fruit and vegetable picking and health. Create cost-effectively comprehensive tourism packages and improve the quality of tourism services in food, accommodation, transport, travel, shopping and entertainment areas. Host high-quality sports events and launch a "Healthy Jilin" series of competitions, nationwide fitness, sports tourism experience, online e-sports and other activities. 
 
In terms of tourism, Jilin province is to roll out a series of policies and measures, to enrich the consumption experience and to launch a series of star products to the market. In terms of sports, the province is to innovate sports products as well as service supplies, to host high-level sports events and to promote the implementation of various policies of the sports industry. In terms of business services, the province is to plan supporting activities of local catering and nighttime economy, and to strengthen the organization and implementation.
