In recent years, the leisure agriculture and rural tourism in Jilin province have been booming with an annual reception of 45 million tourists and an operation revenue of more than 10 billion yuan. 170,000 farmers have been arranged for employment directly, boosting the income of 83,000 households. The provincial Party committee and the provincial government have taken leisure agriculture and rural tourism as new business forms and new models to promote the integrated development of rural primary, secondary and tertiary industries, improve agricultural efficiency and increase farmers' income. They have also strengthened the organization and promotion, increased the support of policies, constantly enriched and expanded the functions of agriculture, and promoted the rapid development of leisure agriculture and rural tourism.
Based on its wealth of resources, Jilin province has integrated innovation into development between agriculture, tourism and culture, between local culture and vogue resort, and between rural primary, secondary and tertiary industries, encouraged the access of social capital and guided farmers to develop leisure agriculture in such organized forms as leisure agricultural cooperative and consortium. The province has also publicized and introduced its leisure agriculture by various ways, including creating an official WeChat account of Jilin rural industry, printing and distributing Jilin leisure agriculture boutique collection and tourism map, and so on. As of now, there have been 4,000 leisure agriculture entities in the whole province, including 3,000 agritainment businesses, 900 leisure agriculture sightseeing parks (leisure farms) and nearly 100 leisure agriculture complexes, as well as 13 national-level and 17 provincial-level leisure agriculture demonstration counties, 15 national-level leisure agriculture demonstration sites, 24 of the most beautiful leisure villages in China, and 71 national-level and 277 provincial-level leisure agriculture businesses above 3 stars.
Agricultural departments of all cities (prefectures) and counties (count y-level cities, districts) in the province have carried out survey and recommendation activities on agricultural cultural heritage, and 5 items have been approved the title of "China's important agricultural cultural heritage". In the meantime, Jilin province has made full use of the seasonal climate characteristics to develop winter fishing. The total winter fishing output of the whole province, including Chagan Lake, Moon Lake, Halnao, Xinlicheng and other places has achieved 21,200 tons so far. Driven by winter fishing activities, the recreational fishery has received 660,000 tourists in the snow season, with an output value of 109 million yuan, which effectively boosts the development of the surrounding tourism.
