A few days ago, with a train whistle coming from the customs supervision site of China-Europe freight train services in Changchun New Area, the China-Europe (Changchun-Hamburg) freight train loaded with 70 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) of steel coils departed for Europe. This is the first time that the China-Europe (Changchun-Hamburg) freight train, as an important hub communicating with the countries along the routes of the Belt and Road, departs with full loading after its regular operation.

From January to April this year, Changchun Xinglong Customs supervised a total of 656 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) carried by the China-Europe (Changchun-Hamburg) freight train in Changchun New Area, including 414 TEUs of imports and 242 TEUs of exports. From the perspective of the supply of goods, the number of goods from local businesses has increased significantly this year, accounting for 73 percent compared to the 20 percent last year. The increase of local supply means that the ability and level of China-Europe Railway Express are gradually raising in serving the economic development of Jilin province and driving the "Made in Jilin" to go overseas, which will help Jilin local businesses integrate into the global industrial and market chains.

Changchun Customs has established a close liaison mechanism with a number of import and export enterprises to speed up the concentration of goods supplies and guide the enterprises to make full use of the advantages of Jilin’s location in the core area of Northeast Asia and the Chang-Ji-Tu route to "connect to the sea in groups" with other enterprises. In addition, on the basis of assisting Jilin local businesses in group transportation, Changchun Xinglong Customs has made efforts to explore the transportation mode of "concentrated integration and transportation" jointly with the railway department, and has carried out container integration and loading operations with mainland logistics businesses, so as to improve the transportation capacity of China-Europe freight trains.
