Shulan Hospital of TCM transformed into a designated hospital to admit COVID-19 patients

On the morning of May 19, at the seventh press conference on epidemic prevention and control in Jilin city, Yang Limin, deputy secretary-general of the Jilin Municipal Government, Tian Jichun, deputy director of the Jilin Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau and Li Deliang, head of the Shulan Epidemic Prevention and Control Leading Group Office and Party secretary of the Shulan Municipal Health Bureau, respectively answered reporters’ questions on such issues as the anti-epidemic materials assisted by all parts of Jilin province, the admission and treatment of patients at designated hospitals and the epidemic prevention and control situation in communities and villages. 
 
Since the COVID-19 outbreak in Shulan city, the number of visitors has surged to the fever clinic of the Shulan People's Hospital. After on-the-spot investigation by national and provincial experts, the Shulan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine is to have been transformed into a designated hospital to admit and treat COVID-19 patients.
 
Li Deliang said that an expert group composed of 64 provincial and municipal experts and working staff is in place, and the hospital can be put into use at any time with sufficient medical workers and protective equipment reserves. After being transformed, the Shulan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine can offer a total of 188 beds. All patients who are diagnosed with the need of being under medical observation in the fever clinic of the Shulan People's Hospital can be transferred to the Shulan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for medical observation. If patients test positive for the coronavirus, they will be transferred in a closed-loop way to the designated hospital in Jilin city for treatment at the earliest possible time.
