At 2 pm on May 17, nine COVID-19 patients were discharged from the Jilin Municipal Infectious Diseases Hospital after meeting the national standard for discharge. In recent two days, fourteen COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged from hospital while two asymptomatic infections have been discharged from quarantine and medical observation in Jilin city.
Among the nine COVID-19 patients, one was the last imported case in Jilin city confirmed on May 1 and eight were locally transmitted cases—four in Shulan, a county-level city under Jilin city’s jurisdiction, confirmed on May 9, one in Fengman district of Jilin city confirmed on May 9, one in Fengman district confirmed on May 10 and two in Fengman district confirmed on May 12. All the nine COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with ordinary symptoms. Thanks to the careful treatment of provincial and municipal medical workers, those 9 patients tested negative three times for the coronavirus and met the national standard for discharge after being jointly evaluated by the national, provincial and municipal experts. According to relevant regulations, the patients were transferred to a medical institution by special ambulances for quarantine and medical observation after being discharged from hospital.
