Jing Junhai, deputy secretary of the provincial Party committee and governor of Jilin Province, met in Changchun with a delegation led by Goetze, German ambassador to China.

On behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, Jing Junhai extended welcome to Goetze and his delegation. According to Jing, Jilin Province attaches great importance to cooperation with Germany. Last year, a Jilin delegation’s visit to Germany has led to a new round of cooperation between FAW China and Volkswagen Germany and made a series of significant achievements. As an important window for China's Belt and Road initiative open to the north, Jilin is currently carrying out the instructions given by President Xi at the symposium on promoting the revitalization of Northeast China, advocating international cooperation and bringing in more investors. It is hoped that the two sides, will further strategic alignment, deepen partnership, and encourage innovation and development with joint efforts. New cooperation projected should be developed in the fields including new energy vehicle, intelligent connected vehicle, auto parts, ice and snow equipment, general aviation, fine chemicals, food industry, and direct flights. More German investment is supposed to flow into Jilin, and project construction will gain speed. and promote wider cooperation fields. A larger and better scope of cooperation is to be seen in the near future.

Goetze promised to organize German enterprises to conduct investment surveys in Jilin. Cooperation will be strengthened in fields like automobile industry, artificial intelligence, direct flight and so on, which is hopefully to bring new technologies, patterns and experience to Jilin.
