Advantageous Geographical Location

Jilin province is situated in the central part of northeast China, covering an area of 187,400 square kilometers. It contains 1 sub-provincial city, 7 prefecture-level cities, Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture, Changbai Mountain Management Committee, and 60 counties (county-level cities, districts). The province is located near the border with a boundary line of 1,438.7 kilometers in total, including 1,206 kilometers shared with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), and the rest 232.7 kilometers shared with Russia. The easternmost Hunchun city is only 15 kilometers away from the Sea of Japan and only 4 kilometers away from the Posyet Bay of Russia. Northeast Asia is composed of Northeast China, Mongolia, the DPRK, the Republic of Korea, Japan and the Russian Far East with a population of 680 million and for a fifth of the world's economic output. Jilin is located in the center of this huge economic region with advantageous geographical location and great development potential.
