Jilin province is the main producing area of "three treasures of northeast China"—ginseng, mink and antler. Changbai Mountain ginseng is a precious medicinal material with active ingredients like ginsenoside I-VI, which has been used for more than 4,000 years in China. Jilin is the largest ginseng production and export base in the country, and its ginseng yield accounts for 80 percent of the national ginseng production and more than 70 percent of the world. In 1981, farmers in Beigang township of Fusong county dug up a 160-year-old ginseng weighing 287.5 grams with a length of 79.5 cm, which has been known as the king of mountain ginseng and stored as a national treasure in the Jilin Hall of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Antler is a precious medicinal material which can strengthen muscles and bones. Jilin province is also the hometown of sika deer. Antler and its related products like antler wine are welcomed by domestic and foreign users.
