Jilin has a relatively rich diversity of wetland types in China. The wetland area of the province is 1.728 million hectares, accounting for 9.2% of the total area. Among them, natural wetlands cover 1.025 million hectares, accounting for 59.3% of the total wetland area in the province, mainly distributed in Baicheng and Songyuan areas with an area of 785,000 hectares, accounting for 45.4% of the total wetland area in the province. Among them, the natural wetland area is 577,000 hectares, accounting for 56.2% of the total wetland area in the province. There are 8 national important wetlands in the province, of which Xianghai wetland and Momog wetland have been promoted to international important wetlands.
