Rated as one of China’s top ten most noted mountains, Changbai Mountain Scenic Area is a national 5A tourist attraction. It is also a wonder land which appeals the world’s attention with its Tianchi Lake in the arms of the magnificent mountains, its rare resources reserved in the dense forests, and its unique climatic phenomenon. In the summer of 1983, Mr. Deng Xiaoping climbed to the top of Changbai Mountain and marveled at its beauty, saying, "It's a great pity if we never came here."
Tianchi Lake is the largest crater lake in China and the most famous scenic spot of Changbai Mountain. The “monster” legend of Tianchi Lake adds to its mystery. Changbai Waterfall, like a jade ribbon from the sky, falls from the corner of Tianchi Lake, is the source of Songhua River, Tumen River and Yalu River. The Grand Canyon of Changbai Mountain features fantastic peaks, rare rocks, deep valleys, beautiful water, ancient trees and precious grasses. Its grandness and wilderness is incomparable.
