[Introduction]

Saskatchewan is located in the center of Canada, bordered by Manitoba Province and Alberta Province to the east and west, Montana State and North Dakota State to the south. The area is 651,900 square kilometers accounting for 6.5% of the total Canadian area, with about 352,000 square kilometers of forest area and about 81,600 square kilometers of fresh water area. The population is 1.17 million (2018) and more than 60% live in cities. The major cities are Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw. The residents of Saskatchewan have a multi-ethnic background, and the boundless land and the vast sky make the province be famous for the beautiful sunset. The south part is the undulating plain and one third of northern part belongs to the Precambrian Shield. Main rivers are Churchill River, South Saskatchewan River and North Saskatchewan River. 

Saskatchewan is known as Canada's "grain cradle" and it is famous for pastures and wheat fields. The mining industry of copper, zinc, coal, gold, petroleum and natural gas is well developed.
